WALGA Becomes the 24th Member of EGDF
The European umbrella organisation for games developers, European Game Developers Federation (EGDF), welcomes WALGA as a new member. It is the second new member this year, after the Estonian association Gamedev Estonia.
The total number of member organisations has thus increased to 24 from 22 countries. The discrepancy is due to the fact that, in addition to the newly-acceded Walloon Games Association (WALGA), the second Belgian organisation, the Flemish Games Association (FLEGA), is also a member of the EGDF. In addition, two Polish organisations are members: the Polish Games Association (PGA) and the Fundacja Indie Games Polska (IGP).
"WALGA, the industry association for Wallonia, has for many years shared an EGDF membership with FLEGA, its counterpart in Flanders, the northern region of the country. Given the significant and rapid development of the sector in Wallonia and the increase in the association’s financial resources, it seemed only natural that we should also become a full member of the EGDF. In order to support and be involved in the remarkable work carried out by EGDF, WALGA and its members are delighted that our application for full membership has been accepted. We look forward to continuing to work together to provide the best possible support to the players in our industry and to make a difference together at European level," said Jean Gréban, Coordinator of WALGA.
This is the second new member this year for the EDGF. The Estonian games developer association, Gamedev Estonia, joined in May.
Thanks to its numerous members, the EDGF has collected extensive data on the European games market, which we have analysed and presented for our subscribers in the four regions of Nordics, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe and West and Central Europe.
