The Latin American edition of the world’s biggest gaming event, gamescom latam, returns to Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo from 29 April to 3 May 2026. Now, the event has announced the first two speakers: Brendan Greene (PlayerUnknown), creator of PUBG: Battlegrounds and video game composer David Wise will be at gamescom Latam, participating in talks and panels.
This year, the event goes all in to become a gateway for Western companies to the Latin American market. With 372.3 million players and projected revenues of $8.3 billion in 2025, the region features more growth than established big markets, with a big part of this centered in Brazil: According to Brazilgames 2024 Brazilian Game Industry Survey, more than 80% of its population considers gaming their primary form of entertainment, generating approximately $2.7 billion in revenue.
“Latin America combines scale, growth, and creative potential in a way few regions do today,” said Eliana Russi, Chief Programming Officer, gamescom latam. “As part of the global gamescom network, gamescom latam offers companies a unique opportunity to access this market while connecting it to a broader global ecosystem. It is where international players can understand the region, build partnerships, and actively participate in the next phase of growth of the games industry.”
The organisers expect the matchmaking program to facilitate around 150 B2B matchmaking sessions. International delegations from France, Germany and Canada are already confirmed to be on site. The gamescom latam BIG Festival will also return with its indie awards.
Gamescom Latam is organised by game - The German Games Industry Association, Koelnmesse Brasil and Omelete Company.
