GamesMarket Daily – 03. Aug 2026: Federal Funding, GDC German Pavilion, Korean Games, AeroSoft's Bergwerk & more
GamesMarket's daily editorial editorial comment and an overview of all news of the day, not just to your inbox, but freely available online as well. The topics of the day: Higher Xbox prices in Europe, Germany on the GDC, gamescom presences and our current sponsor Pixel Maniacs.
Recent outlooks from Samsung suggest that supply chains won't recover significantly until 2028 — in fact, 2027 is expected to be even worse. The financial impact on the gaming ecosystem is already evident: Microsoft has just increased Xbox prices significantly in Europe, and rumour has it that Nvidia will follow suit with GPU pricing. These headwinds are hitting the market at a critical time. Ahead of the launch of GTA VI — a guaranteed driver of hardware sales — consumers face unprecedented price hikes. Consequently, platform holders are forced to reconsider their timeline for the release of the PS6 and the Xbox Helix. Will we see delayed generation cycles or a shift towards high-priced premium devices aimed at early adopters only? It's a dilemma without an easy solution.
Here are the news of the day!
