Via social media, Cologne-based Flying Sheep Studios explain an unspecified number of layoffs as an "optimisation" of business operations. However, the "Star Life" project will continue.

In order to adapt to market developments, a strategic decision has been made to optimise business operations. With this statement, a social media poster begins on X, formerly Twitter, announcing that Flying Sheep Studios is cutting an unspecified number of jobs. They want to make it clear that these adjustments are in no way the fault of those affected. Their skills and dedication are highly valued within the company. The Cologne-based studio also promises to support those affected by the changes and proactively help them find new, fulfilling work.

As for the current project "Star Life", Flying Sheep Studios stated that it will continue unabated.

Flying Sheep Studios has been part of the Australian video game company iCandy since mid 2002. Shortly afterwards, Flying Sheep Studios founder and CEO Thomas Rössig was appointed Head of Europe at iCandy Interactive. In March 2023, Flying Sheep Studios was awarded a federal grant of more than one million euros for "Star Life".
