With 17,300 visitors, the second Caggtus significantly exceeded last year's success. The reach on Twitch also increased significantly, and a date for 2025 has already been confirmed.

Leipzig is and remains a good place for gaming. According to the Leipziger Messe (Leipzig Trade Fair), a total of 17,300 visitors attended the second Caggtus Leipzig last weekend. The community festival, which is built around what is claimed to be Germany's largest LAN party, attracted around 14,800 visitors in 2023. The reach on Twitch also increased significantly. Last year, content creators with a total of around five million Twitch followers were present. In 2024, this figure had already risen to eight million followers.

"The second edition of Caggtus exceeded our expectations - the high level of satisfaction among our visitors and the partners involved shows once again that gaming is at home in Leipzig," says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. "For three days the gaming experience was at the centre of attention and our concept of focusing on gaming itself combined with great show formats was enthusiastically received. We are already looking forward to the next Caggtus".

Caggtus also grew in the core LAN party area. A total of 1900 players attended the LAN party. With 1900 players, Caggtus is far ahead of its competitors. The gamescom LAN, which took place for the first time in March, had 1200 players. Dreamhack Hannover sold around 1000 LAN seats in December 2023. The comparison with Dreamhack is likely to be particularly significant for Leipziger Messe, as it was a partner of the ESL for six years and co-organiser of the German Dreamhack, which took place in Leipzig. In 2021 they parted ways and Leipziger Messe announced its own format, Caggtus.

Leipzig has been an important location for games events for almost 20 years: the first joint industry exhibition, the GC - Games Convention with its accompanying developer conference GCDC (Games Convention Developer Conference), was held there. Due to its enormous success and the limited growth potential of the Leipzig exhibition centre, the industry moved to Cologne and relaunched gamescom there. The Leipzig Fair then set out to find a replacement, and soon found Dreamhack and ESL as partners for a German LAN party, which has now become Caggtus.

"Caggtus is a festival by the community for the community - we felt that very clearly at this year's LAN. We are proud of our community and would like to thank them for their fantastic support. We are already looking forward to repeating this big family reunion next year," says Constantin Strobel, Project Director of Caggtus. And the date for the next gathering has already been set: Caggtus will take place from 11 to 13 April.
