The A1 Austrian eSports Festival and the Spielefest Wien (Vienna Games Festival) welcomed around 21,700 visitors to the Austria Center Vienna. This was the first time that the two festivals were organised as a joint event.

Last Saturday and Sunday the Austria Center Vienna was dedicated to esports, gaming and analogue games. The event took place on an area of more than 30,000 m². 200 exhibitors such as Nintendo and Riot Games were present. There was also a job zone, an indie games area with Austrian game developers and a cosplay area. At over 100 gaming stations, around 20 community tournaments and around 800 gaming tables, gamers were able to test their skills and try out games for themselves.

"The A1 Austrian eSports Festival has grown steadily since its inception three years ago and, with around 21,700 visitors, has become one of the most important and largest gaming events in Europe. Together with the Spielefest Wien, we can rightly call ourselves the most important gaming, esports and gaming event in Austria," says Manuel Haselberger, spokesman for the Austrian E-Sports Association (ESVÖ: E-Sport Verband Österreich).

Gaming fans were able to watch the A1 eSports Finals on the main stage and see some of the best German-speaking esports players compete live in the finals. Around 20,000 Euros in prize money was up for grabs for the participating teams over the weekend. The winners were Dynamit Gaming (Rocket League), Footprint Gaming (League of Legends), Sissi State Punks (Valorant), Narkez - the first double A1 esports champion in Teamfight Tactics - and, still undefeated with his fifth consecutive victory, Tarik in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
