GamesMarket Daily – 16. July 26: New Gamescom Exhibitors + Events, Bavaria, Marion Plank, GTA VI forecast, Leyline
It’s not just gamescom that’s on everyone’s mind; the release of the year is too: Newzoo has now, for the first time, used pre-order figures to date to estimate how GTA VI will perform at launch. Very strongly, of course. There’s also plenty of news from Bavaria and Hamburg.
will GTA VI generate in its launch week? And do you need a crystal ball to answer that question? Not Newzoo, anyway. The Dutch firm has produced a projection based on the first week of pre-orders. Naturally, this still has a certain margin of error when it comes to the launch-week figure, but it’s a perfectly plausible result. There’s more news today from Bavaria, where there are new funding schemes, a new game announcement thanks to Layline, and a new event. Speaking of events: Hamburg-based Polaris is delighted with the high level of interest, and as for gamescom, we’ve today launched our first round-up of gamescom's day events, including the happy hours at the booths. And here too, please note that the list is constantly being updated – as more exhibitors and evening events have been added again today.
Here are the news of the day!
