Nintendo wants to provide as many units as possible when the successor to the Switch is released to meet widespread demand.  Supply shortages of any component should not have a major impact on production. The company is also considering taking action against resellers who try to sell the console at exorbitant prices.

During a Q&A session at the 84th Annual General Meeting, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa also spoke about the launch of Nintendo's next console, first spotted by VGC. When asked what the company could do to prevent scalpers from taking advantage of the console at launch - in other words, to ensure that the console is not offered at inflated prices through resale - Furukawa mentioned two aspects. On the one hand, they will take into account local circumstances and make decisions within the legal framework. They are in the process of considering whether any countermeasures can be taken in this area.

On the other hand, the company wants to ensure that it has enough consoles to meet demand, so that interested buyers do not even have to turn to resellers. He reiterated the statement he made last year. Furukawa also said that the semiconductor shortage that limited the number of consoles that could be produced in recent years no longer exists. Currently, the company's management believes that the component shortage will not have a major impact on the production of the Switch's successor. Nintendo will announce its next console by the end of March 2025.
