Is there finally a new wind blowing, dear readers,

for the European Esports Federation? Having set out many years ago with grand ambitions, things have become very quiet around the European Esports Federation in recent months – indeed, almost years. Unlike the two EU games associations, Video Games Europe and the European Games Developer Federation – which are currently demonstrating, in the context of the EU Kids’ Act, that they are already prepared to champion the industry at EU level – the EEF has made hardly any public appearances. This is another reason why it is a step in the right direction that the EEF Board, at the request of the German ESBD, is drawing up vision papers for 2030 and 2035. Ultimately, however, it will come down to whether these ideas are actually implemented; otherwise, critical voices will grow louder, as was recently the case with the organisers of the Surge Nations League, who apparently would have liked support from the umbrella organisation whilst setting up their structure.

Here are the news of the day!
